How Does A FORMER House Wife Deal With no Skills for the Working world and make it without ALIMONY?

Let's say, the EX decides to give up on everything INCLUDING YOU and become homeless.

You NEVER worked a day in your life or been to college. What do you do (other than take your clothes off and strip) to make money? How do you plan your future without anyone to help you?How Does A FORMER House Wife Deal With no Skills for the Working world and make it without ALIMONY?
ok, for one, she gets off her butt and gets an education, and yes the gov't will help a female get her an apt. and a job, and an education....all she has to do apply herself, and she will not end up in a strip joint or worse..........How Does A FORMER House Wife Deal With no Skills for the Working world and make it without ALIMONY?
Go to your local workforce center.

They will have programs to help you find a good job.
First off, be patient. Second, don't worry. Third, dig up your social security card, driver's license, cell phone (if you have one) and the classifieds, and start looking. More often than not, many employers will have an ad that says ';will train'; somewhere, and you go and apply. Don't worry about your work history; just tell them the truth. Also, there has to be an employment center around your location; go down, fill out the paperwork and let them do the work for you. All you need is a willingness to work, and you're all set. Okay? So don't worry about it, it's not worth the heartburn. Trust me, I've been there. Good luck.
First, do you have any children under age 18 yrs.? If yes, then please contact your local welfare (DSHS) office, and apply for benefits. Then, thru them, see about getting job training, and a job. I wish you the best. Take care.
Find a trade school, that may offer something that really appeals to you. ( cosmetology, nurse, dental hygienist, etc) Then, check into being able to qualify for a student loan or Pell grant. (it's based on income, so you should be able to qualify, for sure) You can have a future that you can be proud of, by setting goals for yourself %26amp; don't be a quitter. Many women have been in your shoes %26amp; did all they could to help themselves, even if it meant to accept help from others. The help is there for the asking, but no one will do it for you. There are better ways to earn money, than to strip. You need to go to school %26amp; become trained in a respectable profession. You can do it, if you want it badly enough. You'll gain self respect, self confidence, %26amp; great feelings of accomplishment in the long run. Good luck!
Most likely you will have to start at the bottom and work your way up! Think about taking some night classes to build your computer skills.
First PRAY!!!!!!!! If you give it to God he will make a way for you. Second, scale down expenses if possible. Find a roommate to share expenses. Third, get a job. There are jobs out there for unskilled workers. You can go from there.
If you need money right away, the get a job at a department store they do training on the job. You do have skills just because you where a housewife doesn't mean you don't have skills. you just have to word it with professional terminology, like if you cook use the word chef, budget use financial management, etc., Even Wal Mart train there employees, if you can go to school like ROP they train you for jobs. You won't start at the top, but something is better then nothing. Good Luck
First, im sorry this is happening to you. But for starters, get on these programs until you can get back on your feet (i'm sorry i'm assuming you have kids):

WIC

Free health Insurance (CHIPS)

Housing program in your local goverment

Second, for an immediate solution go to as many temp agencies as you can that can find you the best job for the best money. I dont know where you live so i'm not sure which ones to recommend to you.

Third, while at those jobs, actually look for a job you actually want on your own through Careerbuilder.com, monster.com, yahoo! jobs, etc.

Fourth, apply at your local communit college and apply for state grant and federal assistance. Since you dont have any income to report, you may qualify to have everything paid for. Take classes in something that interest you. FYI: RNs are always in high demand and offer all types of hours.

Fifth, pray!

Good luck!
Go to the public library and find out about ANY and ALL programmes for school, for training in your area. They will know where to send you.

You can do it. Having a job is empowering and helps you with being independent so you don't NEED a husband or man.... for money.

That's power!
That's weird. There are many ways to go. School is the best direction. Don't give up.
Get a job at inserection.
There are many minimal skills jobs that are entry level, I am sure you could obtain one of those. They are store cashiers, call center operators, etc. Just get out there, use employment services, and even temporary services. A temp. service will at least get you ';a job'; so you can find ';the job'; to get you into a career.
If I were in your position, I would start by moving in with a family member or someone you trust to cut down on rent. Next, I'd go online and search for government programs that help single moms. If that doesn't work, then I'd apply for WIC or help from the government such as food stamp cards. This country has many programs to help out single moms so it shouldn't be hard to find one. Lastly, try to go back to school at least in a short program such as nurse assistant, dental assistant, etc. Hope this helps.
there is no shame in being an exotic dancer. if it pays the bill and you dont despise it (and have the body for it after kids) then keep at it. depending on the # and ages of your kids you could go back to school as well.
First, if you have children go to family court and file for custody of the children and child support. Legal aide from the state for legal matters may be helpful.

Second, apply for assistance and financial aid and go back to school. Begin with a certificate and work as you attend night classes to achieve your degree. If you have a computer there are many at home jobs you could look into while you are in school. Also most schools have online classes, which will also provide financial aide.

If you have a mortgage try and interview for a roommates to help pay the expenses and may assistance with the kids in the evenings for you to get things done.

If your children are special needs apply for SSI for them. If your husband is living on the streets, he may be eligible to receive assistance for his children.
if u have been a homemaker than u should be entitled to some alimony for at least some amount of time. go back to school ask for a grant to get u through it.
there are plenty of jobs out there, that is if you REALLY want to work and make a living. Mc Donalds, Burger King, etc and as a 2nd job to help fill in where the first one wont then there are house cleaning jobs, babysitting. You just make yourself do what ya have to in order to make ends meet and it DOES NOT MEAN you have to become a stripper or whore to do so. I worked 3 jobs until I decided to work a job overseas which in 3 months I made more than I did in one yr working the 3 jobs.
Start with your local department of human services office. There are lots of programs out there for ';displaced homemakers';. That's the term assigned to women like us. But some of those programs include schooling for skills specifically to get you into the work force. If you have small children, there are also programs designed to make sure you can feed them and keep a roof over their heads. Its hard and you feel like you're taking a hand out---but you are not just mooching off the system like so many do. You are in legitimate need of a helping hand until you get on your feet.
